Workshops for children

How many kilometres a day does a bee fly? What do game animals do in the forest? How many legs does a spider have? Why is mucus not just disgusting but life-sustaining? Why are minerals so beautiful?

Our courses for children present a wide variety of scientific topics to 6- to 10-year-olds. Together we walk through the permanent or temporary exhibition(s) and explore the worlds of animals, fossils, rocks and much more. Depending on the topic, the children will also handle original specimens from the museum, microscopes and other tools used in natural-history research. There are often related arts and crafts projects .

Every month we offer two workshops for 6- and 7-year-olds and two workshops for 8- to 10-year-olds. They start at 3 pm and end at 4:30 pm.

Our quarterly schedule of events lists the current course topics.
