Scientific experiments

Experimenting, discovering, observing — quenching children's thirst for knowledge. We want to make all of this possible for kindergarten children at the State Museum of Natural History Karlsruhe. Our experimentation courses for 5- and 7-year-olds introduce 10 different topics in an age-appropriate manner. The girls and boys work with simple materials and household objects to conduct safe experiments under supervision. They work in groups to find explanations for different physical and biological phenomena. The children learn to observe closely and express what they have seen.

The following topics are available:

  • Colour
  • Feeling
  • Light
  • Seeing and hearing
  • Temperature
  • Taste and smell
