Training/ Education

1998 – 2002    Vocational school of musical instrument making, with specialization on violinmaking, in Mittenwald (Staatliche Berufsfachschule für Musikinstrumentenbau Mittenwald)

2002 – 2005    working as a violinmaker in Krems an der Donau (Austria) with the focus on restauration and reparation.

2005 – 2007    Vocational training at the Senckenberg College in Frankfurt/Main as a certified technical assistant for natural history museums and research institutes

2007 – 2009    Additional training as a geological and paleontological preparator at Senckenberg Research Institute and Museum

Tasks at the SMNK

  • Mechanical preparation of vertebrate fossils
  • Manufacturing of fossil castings and moulds
  • Construction of (scaled) models
  • Conservation of the paleontological collection
  • Assistance with preparation tasks on paleontological excavations
  • Participation and collaboration in permanent exhibitions, special exhibitions and other museum projects
  • Supervision of interns
