Services

The Palaeontology and Evolution section offers the following services:

  • Identifying and evaluating fossils and unclear bone discoveries for private persons, public authorities, institutions, customs and police. Commercial and private expert assessments and appraisals are not provided.

  • Providing consultation services in terms of preparing and consolidating fossils for private persons and institutions.

  • Examining field discoveries with possible excavations.

  • Creating CITES expert assessments (ivory, fur) for public authorities and customs. Expert assessments for private and commercial purposes are subject to a fee.

  • Loaning fossils for exhibitions held by official institutions. Loans for private and commercial purposes are subject to a fee. Holotypes and type specimens are not available for loan.
